Reaction to the Yes Vote

After an exhausting week that has been spent solidly campaigning, it is time for a few brief thoughts on the Yes vote.

I, unlike the #EU on Nice and Lisbon, will respect the Irish decision. I am first and foremost a democrat. #EUref

I was surprised by the result. Few i spoke to were keen on it. Proponents main argument was we've got no choice'

If anything, the low turnout possibly said more about how the Irish felt than the result itself.

After speaking to 100s of people last week, the message we personally received was a resounding no. However, with the mass of yes coverage in the press, sadly some people felt they had no choice but to vote yes as they would only have to vote again.
