Kaine for VA Election Night Party

What a wonderful night it was here in Virginia! Tim Kaine won his Senate seat on 52%, and local Democrats were also estatic that Barack Obama is now President for a further four years.

The room was packed last night with volunteers and well wishers for Tim. His campaign has been a real team effort and a long slog, but the many hours phone banking, canvassing and drumming up support were well worth it for his supporters.

I was also thrilled to be interviewed by CBS and other news agencies.

Well done to Senator Kaine!

Canvassing, telephoning and rallying!

TK4VA headquarters

It's been a busy Sunday here in Virginia, and once again Tim Kaine's volunteer office has been a sea of volunteers!

We've managed to both canvass and leave door hangars on doors today, as well as putting in a good session of telephone calls to arrange lifts for Tim supporters to make sure they can get to their local polling stations. Polling stations here open from 6am until 7pm, so volunteers are working incredibly hard to make sure voters have a plan for when they are going to go to the polling station. G.O.T.V is the focus here - Get Out The Vote!

Booking rides to the polling station for voters in Virginia!

I have tickets to the Joe Biden rally which is being held here in Virginia at around 6pm tomorrow which will be a great event to attend. Polls are changing on a daily basis, but all the stats are continuing to show that Virginia is an incredibly close race and the amount of work these volunteers are putting in will make all the difference!

Campaigning in Virginia

Greetings from Virginia!
I'm currently typing this from Virginia where I am assisting Tim Kaine to win a US senate seat.

It is a very tight race here in Virginia and I am gladly pounding the streets to knock on doors and deliver literature to help Tim Kaine and his large amount of volunteers.

His campaign office in Virginia is literally buzzing - everybody is totally focussed on the end goal in a few days. I have worked on American elections in the past, but it never ceases to amaze me in terms of the enthusiasm that all volunteers show on these campaigns. His office is a buzz of noise and excitement, while people queue through the door to lend a hand on the phones or to knock on supporters doors to book them in for a lift to the polling station next week.

Tim Kaine was at a rally of over 20,000 people last night, a story which was covered internationally by the Daily Mail.

Whilst here in the States I have been also attending important meetings and utilising the techniques we are observing here to further our own cause back in the UK to push for an In Out referendum on the UK's continued membership of the European Union.
