Nikki Sinclaire MEP to host Kashmir week events this week

We Demand a Referendum NOW MEP Nikki Sinclaire will next week host a Kashmir week in the European Parliament (27th – 30th May 2013).

The West Midlands MEP will also host a large group of local Kashmiris as they visit the Parliament as part of this week.

Nikki, who is known for her human rights work within the Parliament, has been raising the issue of Kashmir in the European Parliament as they continue their fight for the referendum they were promised.

Nikki said, “As an MEP, I stand up for those who are seeking a referendum on the UK’s membership of the European Union. As a proponent of referenda, I also stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Kashmir who have been promised a referendum, which has never materialised.

I am proud to sponsor Kashmir week in the Parliament and look forward to being joined by local Kashmiri’s who have diligently continued their fight for self-determination”.

The EU-Kashmiri week is a series of events and discussions taking place in the European Parliament from 27-30 May. On the 29th of May, at 6.30pm, in the company of senior Human Rights campaigners and Kashmiri politicians, Nikki Sinclaire MEP will host a presentation and cocktail reception to highlight the plight of the Kashmiri people.
The eminent speakers, and all of those who will attend, are absolutely committed, like Ms. Sinclaire, to a prompt peaceful and democratic solution to the current situation.
Also on the 29th, there will be a press conference at 11am, and a recording of a round table discussion on the Kashmiri situation commencing at 11.30am.
A wide range of representatives have been invited to this week of events, including diplomats, staff from the European Commission and the EP, representatives from the UN and NGOs.
Last month Nikki Sinclaire MEP spoke at the Milad conference in Aston Park. She told the 20,000 crowd that she would continue the fight for the rights of the people of Kashmir
