RIP Drummer Lee Rigby

Today I laid flowers at Woolwich in memory of Drummer Lee Rigby.

It was incredibly emotional to see the thousands of flowers and items that have been left in memory of Drummer Rigby. There are also beautiful messages of love and support left for his family.

Drummer Rigby's death has completely shocked the nation, and the sheer scale of what has been left in Woolwich shows the strength of feeling behind this attrocious crime.

As a politician who has been a part of the Armed Forces Parliamentary Scheme, I have been very honoured and humbled to be able to meet many members of the Armed Forces. More than ever, I am proud of the work they do and so grateful for the wonderful job they are doing day in, day out.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
RIP Drummer Lee Rigby
