Nikki Sinclaire MEP to be keynote speaker at POLSIS Conference

Nikki Sinclaire MEP has been chosen as key note speaker at the University of Birmingham’s POLSIS conference.

The Department of Political Science and International Studies have invited the We Demand A Referendum MEP to be a part of their annual conference which is now in its third year.

The event, which is organised by students from the department, is a platform for students to present their own research to their peers and every year the student led committee which organises the conferences invites a high-profile keynote speaker from the world of politics or journalism.

This year, given the increasingly media and mainstream political focus on the question of the UK’s relationship with the EU, the students have chosen Nikki Sinclaire MEP as their key note speaker.

The overall theme for this year’s conference is Victims and Villains. Each student paper will focus on the constructions of victims, heroes and villains in the context of society, national politics, and international relations.

Nikki Sinclaire MEP, “I am honoured that the student committee requested that I spoke at this event.

I’m looking forward to meeting as many students as possible to talk about the scale of work that an MEP engages in.

With an EU referendum high on the agenda, it will be great to debate the issue with the students at the University”.

Nikki will speak at the conference at 11am on Wednesday 5th June at the University of Birmingham, Edgbaston.
