Talking to BBC Hereford and Worcester about Food Wastage

This morning I tweeted BBC Hereford and Worcester

(Shame about the auto-correct)

My office has collected over 3 tonnes of food for food banks across the West Midlands. Food poverty is a real issue.

Food wastage is another issue. Foods that are thrown away from Supermarkets could be better utilised - many homeless shelters could use the fresh produce very quickly. Tins could be utilised by food banks.

Another point to make about food wastage is the waste of food in our own homes. We need better food education to ensure that we are no longer throwing so much produce away.

I spoke to Elliott Webb this morning on the subject.
