The We Demand a
Referendum Now Party today announces its FULL candidate list for the upcoming European
Union elections.
The 7 name list is released ahead of the vote, which is to be held on Thursday May 22nd
2014.
Heading the list
in the West Midlands is incumbent MEP Nikki Sinclaire. Nikki has represented
the West Midlands region in the European Parliament since 2009 and has been
independently ranked by website www.MEPRanking.eu
as the hardest working MEP in the West Midlands region.
Next on the list
is Mohammed Adris MBE, commonly known as Andy. As a local community champion, Andy received an MBE
for his tireless work as a Special Constable police officer here in the region.
Andy said, “I’m thrilled to
be standing alongside the regions hardest working MEP to fight for an EU referendum. I’m
a great admirer of Nikki’s international human rights work, particularly on Kashmir”
Third on the
list is Cllr Linda Brown, who was elected as an Independent Councillor in Solihull in 2012.
Cllr Brown comments: “For too long
the people have been denied their say on EU membership. If we are a
democracy, then the people should be given their say and then the
government must abide by the result. Are we to stop in or come out? Let
the People Decide!''
Policy: The We Demand a
Referendum Now Party are calling for an In or Out vote on EU membership on or
before the General Election in 2015.
Nikki Sinclaire
added,“Over the past
five years I have proven to be hard-working, determined and my
referendum petition
campaign has changed the course of the debate on EU membership, unlike
the Prime Minister who is still letting the British people down by avoiding the best option for our country. His decision to wait until after the next general
election to offer a weak tinkering of our EU membership but only if he
is re-elected is unacceptable. If re-elected I pledge to keep
up the pressure on the Government to ensure that the people get their
say ASAP''
