Visiting Birmingham Library today

I've spent a fantastic afternoon at Birmingham Library being shown the facilities at what is Europes biggest library. Its fast becoming a tourist attraction in its own right with over 9000 people passing through the doors every single day.

I was particularly impressed by the collection of law books held in the library and many of the items held in the exhibition room that are part of the libraries extensive collection, including books dating back to 1827.

It makes me feel very proud that Birmingham has a world class facility like this. I hope this library inspires a lifelong love of reading, just as my local library did when I was a child.
