Letter in Sunday Telegraph 1st July 2012

Dear Editor,

It is wonderful that we can finally have a permanent monument in the shape of the Bomber Command memorial which is opened this week, especially with armed forces day this Saturday.

This has come at the cost of millions. Although we must always remember those who have fallen in the name of this country, it seems paradoxical that our current forces personnel are woefully underfunded and need new equipment, as well as a lack of support for forces families in the UK in matters such as housing and schooling.

It is time to set our priorities straight when it comes to our armed forces.

Lest we forget anyone.
